SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION GROUPS

A Journey into Meaning, Healing & Hope

Welcome to the Spiritual Transformation Group—a space where existentialism meets the psychology of spirituality, science meets universal narratives, and transformation is not just possible—it’s inevitable. This is not just a group. It’s a guided journey into the depths of who we are and what we are meant to become.

Your journey will be guided by the framework of Existential-Spiritual Psychotherapy, a forthcoming book by Elena Kim, to be published by Cambridge University Press. As a member of this group, you’ll get early access to the key ideas, tools, and practices from the book—brought to life through real-time teaching, meaningful dialogue, and shared transformation.

What We’ll Explore Together

Science of Spiritual Need

Is the search for spiritual connection simply a cultural artifact—or is it hardwired into us? We'll examine powerful scientific research that points to a universal human need for transcendence, awe, and belonging. You'll learn how this need for spiritual connection is linked to well-being, resilience, and even physical health.

Existential Psychology & Spirituality

We will dive into existential psychology—the study of what it means to be human in a vast and uncertain universe. Together, we will explore how questions of meaning, mortality, freedom, and isolation intersect with spiritual experience. You’ll discover how these core concerns shape your worldview, your emotional life, and your connection to something greater than yourself.

Narratives as a Map for Healing

Ancient wisdom lives in stories. Across cultures and across time, mythology has provided a shared symbolic roadmap for healing, growth, and thriving. We’ll uncover the universal archetypes and stages of transformation that show up in myths, dreams, and lives—and discover how modern science echoes these ancient truths.

From Anxiety to Hope: The Inner Journey

Transformation begins within. As a group, we will compassionately name and explore our deepest existential anxieties—the fears and uncertainties that often remain hidden beneath the surface. From this place of honesty and courage, we will move toward identifying our sources of strength, inspiration, and hope. Through reflection, dialogue, and shared ritual, we’ll begin to chart our own path of healing—together.
